Joseph is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the firm’s research team, processes, and investment portfolios. He advocates developing deep understanding in underlying businesses coupled with fundamentally-sound valuation work. He is also a strong proponent of continuous learning.
Prior to joining Heron Bay Capital Management, Joseph worked at FactSet Research Systems Inc. where he helped to create and support 46 asset management firm locations' data processes. Joseph later worked as a Financial Advisor for Pinnacle Wealth Management Group before transitioning to an Equity Research Analyst role at an institutional asset manager, Clarkston Capital Partners.
In addition to his love for learning and understanding businesses, Joseph enjoys competing in sports, travel, playing guitar, cooking, and spending time with his family.

What makes you a good fit for your role?
As a first-principal thinker, I break ideas down ideas and problems into their basic components to understand them with depth. This lends itself well to business analysis, where details are often critically important. My research process analyzes each business unit of a company in search for enduring competitive advantages.
Having a background in financial data services technology leads to maximizing output from research tools. It also provides the skill sets needed to build technological monitoring of the portfolios we run and attributes of companies in which we invest. The knowledge acquired through continuous education, the obtaining of the CFA charter, as well as through experience offers the foundation for the work we do as a research team each day. Having worked at Heron Bay Capital Management from its formative days, I have had wide exposure to different areas of the business as well as the tools implemented. Establishing our investment process, portfolios and building custom tools for our research along with our team is something I am very proud of. I look forward to continuing to expand the team, firm knowledge and tirelessly serve those that entrust us with their capital.
